History

Club History

The club was chartered  August 26th 1974 with the name 'Manly Civic Toastmasters'.

Club sponsors were Graham Clark and Eric and Joy Augustenn

First female member was Joan McMenamin – in 1975 when a motion was passed to allow female membership.

The club moved to the Manly Rugby Club is 1983,  the Manly War Memorial Club in 1985, Manly Vale Hotel in 1986, Balgowlah Masonic Club (year not known) and Balgowlah RSL Club in 1996.

The club changed it’s name to 'North Harbour Toastmasters' in 1986 and then to 'Balgowlah RSL Toastmasters' in 1999.
